Q: we purchased one of these already and love it but we have an odd area that we need another. opening is 56" and the door opening can't be in the middle. not sure if this will work? description says larger size will fit openings only 3 different sizes give or take an inch. please confirm. can you suggest a non-freestanding one that WILL work, if this wont?

A: The wider One-Touch Gates will not work as they are limited in adjustability to plus or minus 1 inch. Other gates which will work would be the Convertible Pet Gate (#422249) which has configurable panels and you can put the door anywhere in the arrangement. You can even use a zig-zag pattern, but it would need to be mounted into the wall on each end (see video). Another option would be the Bindaboo Gate (#221128). You can add a 10.5 inch panel on one side and a 3.5 inch panel on the other to offset the door and reach the 56" width you're looking for.
