A: Please compare each of your dog's specific girth measurements, which is taken directly behind the front legs and around the body done while the dog is standing, to the girth measurements for each size listed in the drop down menu.

Q: One of my dog necks size is 11 and the other is 10.5 Ther girth is 17 and 16. That would make them into a size med. I always run into the problem that the neck is big. Both my dogs weight about 10lbs. Can you help me.

A: The manufacturer of this harness lists the neck measurements as follows: Small- 10" neck; Medium- 12" neck, Large- 16" neck. If the neck measurement and the girth measurements do not correspond with the sizing for this specific harness, you may wish to look into a step-in style of harness which will avoid the neck area all together.

Can this be used for a cat? He is a big boy at 18lbs. 16" girth and 6" neck.
It looks like a great design that may not bother him so much behind his front legs.

A: The measurements do not coincide with the measurements of this particular harness due to the neck size you provided. The medium has a girth of 14-18" but the neck size of 13" and even though the harness sits a bit lower down from the neck, mostly closer to the upper chest bone, I do not believe that this particular harness will fit your cat well. You can certainly try it and take advantage of our 'Right Size Promise' program if you would like and you can view the details at http://www.gwlittle.com/returns

Q: I need a harness that will not tangle or matt my mixed-terrier's silky, Yorkie-like hair. Her regular strap style has left matts in front of her legs.

A: This is a common problem we hear about with many harnesses. You may want to consider trying a Susan Lanci Step-In harness. They are very soft, breathable, and hand a little loose when dogs don't pull on the leash.

Q: I bought the small size. Will that fit my 10 pound yorkie?

A: There is no way for us to know. We usually size items by measurements like girth and length. Body weight is not a good indication of how an item will fit.
