Customer ReviewsVery cute but not for the bigger dog

I'm sure this would work better on a very small dog. Only adjustable around the middle.. when you pull forward it basically pulls off. Did not work well for my plump 40lbs. Beagle even after I sewed in darts on the chest. It was very cute! Sad it won't stay on him. AWESOME quality and great for bigger dogs

The quality of this harness just makes the Puppia harnesses pale in comparison. I actually disagree with the review submitted by the other poster that this harness is not for bigger dogs. In her case it sounded like the fit/size she had just fit her dog poorly especially if it necessitated sewing modifications (in fact Hip Doggies seem to fill in where the puppia harnesses leave off so perhaps her beagle would fit the puppia ones better). My 50 lb dog is actually in between puppia sizes and so this was jsut perfect in its fit. Again, quality blows me away. It's built as well as any sneaker. Nice smooshy fabric with a slight stretch. (since it stretches I'd say it's important that it fit the dog perfectly). Great idea to have the 4 point locking plastic buckle. Metal on both sides for weight symmetry would be ideal, but this higher quality buckle is a plus.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is that the D ring is not positioned behind the chest strap where it needs to be to best distribute the pull across the chest. I hear they are fixing that in the Jan. 2012 batch, luckily.
NOT GOOD!

My Maltese freaks out every time I try to pull this over her head. Why they couldn't make a Velcro closure mystifies me. I ended up cutting it and sewing on the Velcro myself -- what a pain. I would NOT recommend this harness.
GWL: If your dog doesn't like items going over the head this type harness is not a good match. There are plenty of other styles that come with Velcro. READ MORE REVIEWS »»»»
