I've trained all of my dogs to potty outdoors. These pads are a great backup when the weather doesn't cooperate (or I don't make it home on time!). It's especially useful if you have a senior dog. I already had a smaller Pup-head grass and the tray which has worked great for my Chi's, especially my male that seems to have a teaspoon bladder! So I got a bigger replacement grass and the 2 pads for underneath it, one to use and one in the wash. They were on sale but well worth it even if they weren't. wonderful!!!
