The Boston Terrier is a lively breed and highly intelligent, which makes them very easy to train. Because of this intelligence they can be a bit stubborn, however, but much less so than other terrier breeds. Usually your tone of voice is all that is needed to correct problems. Boston's are nothing if not sensitive!

They are gentle, well mannered, and do very well in families with children. They love playing and always want to be in the thick of whatever is happening in the household. They make excellent watchdogs, but are not considered "barkers." They'll generally let you know someone is at the door, and then stop.

Boston's are a small dog and generally weigh between 10-25 pounds. They do need daily exercise but must be protected from temperature extremes. Because of their short muzzles they can quickly overheat, so they must be supervised in hot weather. They are also intolerant to the cold and must be kept indoors.

Boston Terriers love being with their family, so if they're left outside you can be sure they'll be waiting at the door to come back in with you!
