My Inspiration to Design a Room for "Paris Noel"
-by Valentina Bloomfield

Last fall my husband and I purchased a beautiful new home. We have plenty of room, so I thought how nice it would be if Paris had her very own room. The theme would have to be related to Paris, France. “Paris” was named after the city of love, (and the fact I collect Eiffel Towers ). “Noel” since she was born on December 18th, 2004, around Christmas time.

So it began… I have a special friend who is an amazing and very gifted artist, Leslie Walker. Together we came up with this beautiful and meaningful mural!

First you’ll notice the floor in cobblestone linoleum. This works great for any puppy as it’s easy to clean! Paris has her very own flat panel LCD television mounted low at her eye level so she can watch while my husband and I are at work. Paris’s chandelier has antique crystals and aged white porcelain. Since Paris is a super doggie model and loves pink as much as I do, half of her room looks like a French couture boutique. The walls have faux aged plaster breaking away to pink brick work. There’s also a painting of an antique glass window with the words “Moulin Rouge”. Underneath is her 1st birthday dress and Swarovski crystal crown, a special heart pendant that was a gift, a sheriff’s badge since Paris’s Daddy works there, and other fashionable items. Then there’s a beautiful view of a park in Paris. Everything has special meaning, including the Himalayan cat walking by, “Forest,” Paris’s playmate and brother. The yellow represents my father whom I lost in 2004, and the lavender represents my mother, who resides in San Francisco.

Paris has a black rod iron canopy bed with a down mattress. It’s covered in a little French bedspread with soft blankets and a pink dog bone shaped pillow, then finished with a pink satin bow at the top.

Above Paris ’s closet reads “L’ Amour”. Inside you will find many wonderful things: a cabinet lined with the finest couture tops, coats and dresses. She has backpacks, jewelry and scarf’s hung neatly inside. A basket holds her leashes and collars and on the other side a cubicle for her special food, potty pads, soft pink blankets, puppy perfume, containers of hair bows in every color you can think of and, of course, her two favorite ballerina dresses. Paris owns not one, but two pieces of Louie Vuiton luggage. Being the super model that she, is she always travels in style!

Why do I do all of this for her?

It’s called unconditional love. I could walk in the door a hundred times and she never gets tired of seeing me. It’s as if each time is her first time. She is always such a happy girl and has brought my husband and me so much joy into our lives. You can not put a price on something as beautiful as that. I feel so very blessed to have her in my life.
