Thinking Inside the Box

My dogs are so lucky – I have a huge fenced-in backyard and a doggie door. Whenever they need to do their business, they just push open that flap and away they go. If I have to go out, I know they’re not crossing their legs waiting for Mom to get home.

However, not every pooch has this luxury. And as a part-time pet sitter, I know just what a problem the potty break situation poses for people. Cats have the use of a litter tray, of course, but I imagine that most dogs, especially small ones that live in apartments and condos, have to hold it when their moms and dads go to work, or leave for a few hours. They need to be potty trained, and have to find a way to tell you when they need to use the bathroom. Although consistent potty training works, and is the best overall answer, wouldn’t it be nice – for them and you – if they could have a litter box too? Well, now they can!

PETáPOTTY is a revolutionary “real” indoor toilet that is becoming the next musthave pet necessity. And its arrival shows just how far we’ve come since the messy days of putting newspaper down for Fido in the bathroom or laundry area. Potty pads made a great advance on newspaper, but are still not ideal. So how does this product work? By bringing the outdoors in! Dogs love to pee on grass, so the inventors of PETáPOTTY created a small box with a removable and cleanable tray underneath, and either real or synthetic turf on top. Dogs can quickly be taught how to hop on to it to do their business – and because it feels and looks like the real thing, they love it! The “mini-lawn” can be placed anywhere in your home, or can even be hooked up to the plumbing for exceptional cleanliness. The live sod is delivered to your door when you need to replace it, or you can keep a stock of the artificial kind. Both types need to be changed out periodically, but for in-between times just spritz the area with the item’s sister product, Smell‘U’Lator – an enzyme spray that eats up the odor-producing bacteria.

Although dogs will always prefer a trip outside when they need to potty, when that’s not possible, or the weather is too inclement, the PETáPOTTY is a great new solution to an age-old problem. And what about all those crossed legs? Now, just like me, you’ll never have to worry about them again!
